FAQ

  • Q: How is window tinting installed?

A: Window tint film is fitted to the inside of the window. Each glass pane has a film separately cut to it's size, shrunk to take out any excess material occurred due to the curve of the glass, and then it is fitted on the inside of the window using a water-based solution which can be used to push out with special type of squeegee.

  • Q: How long does it usually takes to window tint the windows?

A: The time frame of each window that will be tinted depends on the level of complexity to cut, shrink, and fit the film to the glass. Just like most small doors can be completed in half day, on the other hand larger ones can take up to a full day each.

  • Q: Can the window film be damaged?

A: Window film is made with a material that is durable, but it can get scratched more easily than glass, so extra care should be taken to clean the film. Please do not use any heavy materials, such as paper towels, or chemicals, such as ammonia, when maintaining your film.

  • Q: Does the film peel off or bubble up?

A: We only use the best quality, purpose-made window tinting film that come with a lifetime warranty for peeling, bubbles, or fading. Therefore, there is slim to no chance of bubbles, peeling, or fading of the film. If in a rare occurrence this does happen we will come and replace the tint for free.

  • Q: Can I remove or replace the film?

A: Yes, the window film can be removed. Although, please do keep in mind that the film is designed not to come off easily and uses high-quality materials to ensure a strong bond to the glass. It can be removed by an experienced window tinting technician with the correct equipment and techniques that are used so as not to leave or damage any elements on the windows.

  • Q: Can I choose the shade of the film before I book my appointment?

A: Yes, you can. We have a range of different window tinting films to help you select the right shade for your windows. We recommend coming to our tint shop in Brooklyn and choosing the shade you like on site, if you're getting your vehicle tinted. If you are tinting your home or office, our estimator will bring samples with them during the job site visit that you can choose from.

  • Q: When can I open my window once I’ve had them tinted?

A: Car window film takes approximately 3-5 days to dry, so we recommend you to not open your windows for that amount of time. On the other hand, residential and commercial window tinting might take longer to dry depending on the size of the glass. We recommend waiting 15-30 days for the window film to dry and set before opening any windows or cleaning them.

  • Q: How to clean my windows?

A: You can spray down your windows with a window cleaner that is NOT ammonia based and use a non-abrasive cloth such as a micro-fiber cloth to wipe it dry.

  • Q: Can people see through tinted windows?

A: All of our window tint ranges in different levels of percentage of visible light shining through the tint. For example, the 5% solar control window film blocks 95% of the visible light transmission (VLT) whereas the 45% blocks 55% of the VLT, and so on.

  • Q: Do your tints reduce the heat coming through the window?

A: Yes. The solar control properties set up in automotive, residential, and commercial window film can greatly reduce the level of heat coming through your windows. We carry solar control films that can block up to 95% of the solar heat.

  • Q: Can the window film be scratched?

A: The tints used for windows come with a scratch-resistant coating for long-lasting durability and protection from normal wear-and-tear. However, if you attempt to scratch the film with a sharp metal object, this may cause a scratch just as it would on glass or any other flat surface.

  • Q: Should I clean my windows before I bring them to get tinted?

A: No, leave that job to us. It's part of our job and included in the price you pay. Also, we cannot risk any foreign solutions to get stuck in between the frames of the glass.

  • Q: How much does it cost to tint windows all around?

A: It’s depends on your vehicle and what type of window film you would like us to install. For homes, offices, or buildings we calculate the cost based on how many windows you'd like tinted, how big the windows are that you wish to have tinted, and the type of window film you wish to use.
